MoneyCodes and EFS Checks
Introduction
MoneyCodes are a convenient way to use funds from your fuel account to pay for other expenses in your business such as truck repairs, tires, or lumper fees.
How does it work?
When you issue a MoneyCode, you will generate the actual MoneyCode ID. To pay a merchant or repair shop you can write the MoneyCode ID on an EFS check and use it like a regular check for payment. You can also simply provide the MoneyCode ID to the payee and they can use that to claim the funds. To claim the funds the recipient will call into EFS, provide EFS with the ID and the funds will be released to the payee.

A MoneyCode is guaranteed funds. Which means once you issue a MoneyCode the funds will be immediately removed from your fuel account. You can void a MoneyCode after issuance, but there are limitations. Please reference the Voiding a MoneyCode section at the bottom of this article.
Issuing a MoneyCode
You can issue a MoneyCode directly from the FuelStream app by clicking on the 'MC' icon in the bottom navigation menu. If you do not see the 'MC' icon, your account does not have access to MoneyCodes, if you wish to enable MoneyCodes on your account please contact our support team at 385-264-7610 or by email at support@fuelstreamservices.com.
To issue a MoneyCode from the FuelStream app, follow the steps below:
- Click 'New MoneyCode'
- Enter the name of the company or person receiving payment in the 'Payee' field
- Under 'Contracts' you will need to select the account you wish to pay from
- Enter the amount
- Select a purpose from the dropdown field
- The 'Info Field' is a way of tracking specifics about that MoneyCode to help you identify why it was issued
- You will then provide the information and any notes on the next page
- Review and confirm the details of your MoneyCode are correct
- Create the MoneyCode
- After you have created the MoneyCode you can then easily send the code to the recipient
EFS Checks
Your initial shipment of FuelStream cards should also include a few EFS checks. These checks are used in addition to the MoneyCode. Some merchants will require a physical EFS check to be filled out in order to process the payment. Below are steps to follow to accurately fill out an EFS check and an example of an EFS check.
- Write the name of the person or merchant you are paying with the EFS check on the "Pay to" line
- Write today's date on the 'Date' line
- Write out the amount on the 'Sum of' line
- Write the dollar amount in the 'US Dollars' box
- Write the Driver's License number and State of the person writing the EFS check
- Write the MoneyCode in the 'MoneyCode' box

Do NOT complete the Authorization Code field. This is for the person receiving the check to complete.

Voiding a MoneyCode
You can void a MoneyCode after creating it. However, once a MoneyCode has been claimed by the recipient you will no longer be able to void it. We advise customers to double check all details of a MoneyCode prior to providing it to the recipient. To void a MoneyCode follow the steps below.
- Click 'MC' from the bottom navigation menu in the FuelStream app
- Click on the MoneyCode you wish to void
- Click the 'Void' button
- Confirm you wish to void that MoneyCode
Once the MoneyCode has been voided successfully you will receive a confirmation message and the status of the MoneyCode will show as 'Void' in the FuelStream app. The funds should be immediately returned to your fuel account. You can verify this by checking your balance in the 'Activity' tab of the FuelStream app.
